Our Program
Developing Leaders
Leadership Gilroy is a dynamic program in which participants develop vital leadership and team-building skills, gain a deeper understanding of the local community, and design a service project.
The Leadership Gilroy program content focuses on leading with impact and learning to collaborate with a diverse, accomplished and energized cohort of professional peers. Leadership skills are taught in the context of the community so that graduates emerge with skills immediately applicable to the workplace and a dramatically increased knowledge of the innerworkings of the community.
The primary skill areas include building healthy, results-focused teams, communicating effectively through difficult circumstances, and successfully driving change. These areas and personal development, such as sharpening emotional intelligence, project management, and negotiations, connect in a three-dimensional model inside an adaptive and servant leadership theoretical framework. A focus on ethics, diversity, equity, and inclusion underpin the model and serve as guiding principles.
Class participants can practice these skills in a safe environment and benefit the Gilroy Community through creating and delivering a community project.
